" Friday Capt. Turner Mefs Pruden and Isham went on board the Ship and Mefs Tate and McNab set out in 2 Canoes 5 men for their winter quarters Inland."

Sept. 3
" Saturday Wind E prevents the Ship from Sailing. Severn Brig dropped doun from the launch 5 men preparing for Oxford and its out posts - Stowing by Cargoe - Several Ind. took debt and went away."

Sept. 4
" Sunday Wind W a fine breeze - the Ship Sailed for Europe and soon disappeared in the offing - the Brig Sailed for Severn. Mefs Cook and Sinclair preparing for Inland."

Sept. 5
" Monday This Morn'g Mr Cook & J McNab Jun. in 2 Canoes conducted by Indians set out for Inland. Mr Sinclair waits in hopes of men from CR - 2 Canoes 5 men set out for Oxford House and 7 men went with Salt Ammunition &c for the E Goose tent 9 NR men preparing to set out to morrow . in the eveng John Irvine & 10 labourers spared from Churchill arrived in the Battaux that conveyed Mr Fidler - sent 5 labour's for Severn."

" Tuesday Wind Nly blowing a heavy Gale & prevented Mr Cooks men from Starting."

Sept. 7
" Wednesday Early this morng Mr Cooks men in 3 Canoes set out for the NRiver Settlements the high sea prevented them from rounding the Point of marsh - John Irvine & 4 men went for his Companions returng from CR - the Gale of yesterday must have been Severe at Sea - both Beacons are blown doun - the men retur'd from E Goose tent - the Gale of yesterday and high tide has drove the Boat high among the Willows."

Sept. 8
" Wind Continues Nly with heavy rain - Stowed by the European Cargo - 2 Ind. came doun the river in a Canoe loaded with Venison - 4 men took up the Buoys."

Sept. 9
" Friday All hands took up the launch & boats making all Snug for winter Mr Cooks men still detained in the marsh - 2 Ind. came doun the river with a few Summer furs. Mr Geddes Commenced his School - 5 Pupil Viz. Katherine Sinclair, John & Mary Bunn, Harriet Ballendine and Mr Jos. Cook at times."

" Monday The Ind. who accompanied Mr Fidler to Churchill arrived and 2 Ind. brought a Canoe load of Venison doun the river."

" Wednesday All the Goose Hunters came for their winter debts say there is no Geese flying in the marshes they have only filled 3 Hhds."

" Thursday All the Ind. took debt - 3 Canoes from the NRiver brought Venison and went away."

" Friday All the Ind. went away Cold Weather snow and Sleet - finished the new platforms."

" Saturday Blew a tremendous gale last night Snow and drift as in dec. people preparing for the woods."

" Monday Boat builder, House Carp'r a Cooper & 4 men preparing for tenting 4 or 5 months near the head of Steel river where they are to Collect Spars for Oars instead of Ash ones from Europe. Cut plank to Complete the platform, boards for Boats, and Weather boarding to Cover the remainder of the Flankers and Sheds - 2 Ind brought 2 deer from above and tuo families from the Nward came for debt they brought a quan'y of dry venison and tongues."

" Tuesday Indians went away 8 men bring'g Stones for Securing the bank, Sweeping fast away by the high tides. part of the Lime Kiln is fallen doun - Boat builder and party set out for Steel River & Jos. Hall to his tent."

Ice driving thick in the River - The Ships apparantly in great distrefs - but favored by the advantage of a good Wind got under Weigh with the Flood Tide - & soon disappeared from our View - The Wind not being equally favorable for the Severn Schooner - & The Ice increasing with great rapidity it was thought expedient by Mr Taylor to ground his Vefsel at a short distance from the Point of Marsh - where she is Stationed for the Winter - A quantity of the YF Cargo is on Board which cannot be taken out of her till the Spring unlefs an alteration in the Weather should take place."
